Sailor Autumn
So this is my first ever cosplay costume for one of my favorite otaku senshi: Sailor Autumn. I hope to make some more otaku fukus in the future. ^_^
It took me lots of work to get this right. The actual bodice I used is the second one, the first being so tiny even Nanashi couldn't fit into it. There is also another tiara, choker, and an extra pair of glove bands all from the first failed try at each.
The front bow is a bit small for my liking and there are two major inaccuracies in the costume. First, I have 'the scrunchie'. Many people who do fanart of Autumn stick a random blue (or purple) scrunchie in her hair. There isn't one! Her hair just falls into a ponytail like that. My hair, unfortunately, does not, so I need the notorious scrunchie. *grins* Second, I gave the costume a super-length back bow. I didn't realize my error until it was too late, but the long tails are fun for twirling in, so I kept them. ^_^
The whole thing is very detachable. The skirt slips on and off with the hip roll, but the back bow stays attached to the skirt. The broach snaps onto the bow, so I can remove it and do an Autumn shield. The collar slips over my head as well, but the front bow is attached to that. All the other smaller pieces are separate. This way, I have a bodice and don't have to make a new one every time I want a new fuku of this style.
I have to say my favorite part of it is the bodice, it turned out so nicely. The collar and the stripe are great too, and I enjoy wearing the tiara around even if it is rather ugly. The bodice was definitely the hardest part though and the easiest was the collar and bow. The pattern was bought from Faerie Fingers.
