Princess Mercury & Princess Saturn

Princess Mercury from Sailor MoonPrincess Saturn from Sailor Moon for Nanashi

When Prae and I decided sew our own dresses for Senior Prom, I knew exactly which dress I wanted. When mom offered to pay for materials, all the better. I had to simplify several things for the dance, but the were later added back on for cosplay.

All in all, I love this dress. The fabric was fantastic to work with and looks gorgeous when put together. I'm particularily proud of the sheer fabric on the back. To get that flowing fluffy look from the front, I put it into a rose-like knot at one corner and sewed it to the back of my dress. This created an amazing and gorgeous train. Granted, this was a little difficult to dance with, but still so much fun.

My prom jewelry was made by Psi at Psi Creations. She does amazing work so definately go check it out.

We gathered up a group of princesses for Anime Detour 2006, with a Tuxedo Kamen, but lacking in a Neptune. I made Nanashi's Princess Saturn costume as well. Our cast was Rae as Moon, myself as Mercury, Enkai as Venus, AJ as Jupiter, Alex as Mars, Justin as Tuxedo Kamen, Liana as Uranus, Sabrina as Pluto, and Nanashi as Saturn. We gathered up some more BSSM cosplayers at the con for a photoshoot too near the end. In all, it was fun to run around in shiney dresses.

Upon finally getting the buttons sewn on, I took my brother out for a photoshoot and got some lovely photos.

Princess Mercury went out for a walk at Ohayocon 2008 as well.
